SUN BALLAST ballast for 5° sail system with 5° inclination and 60kg weight is designed to utilize all available roof surface area, optimizing the installation of the solar power system.
This system allows for the recovery of the area usually left for shading between rows. With the same space, it’s possible to install about 20% more modules compared to a traditional system. Moreover, when used in shorter sails or single rows, they allow raising the front part of the system up to 60 cm from the surface, reducing exposure to shadows from other structures present (parapets, chimneys, etc.). It’s possible to position the panels both horizontally and vertically.
The Sun Ballast Sail mounting system is made of vibrated and reinforced concrete and allows for a 5° inclination. The material used for the ballast has an exposure class of XC4 as well as a strength class of C32/40. It serves both as support and ballast for the photovoltaic panels and does not need to be fixed to the roof but only placed on it. During installation, a protective rubber membrane is laid between the support and the roof. The photovoltaic panels are attached to the support, which is equipped with an M8 bushing, using special central clamps, and the module orientation can be horizontal or vertical.
