Adjustable charging current
The charging current is adjustable via VictronConnect with a minimum step of 0.1 A.

Smart alternator compatibility
An integrated mechanism detects if the engine is running (engine shutdown detection) and activates the charger only when the alternator is supplying power. This ensures that the charger only draws energy when the alternator is providing it, i.e., when the engine is running.

Adaptive 4-stage charging algorithm
For lead-acid batteries, it is important that during small discharges, the absorption time is short to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, however, the absorption time is automatically extended to fully charge the battery. The Orion XS includes fully programmable charging algorithms and eight pre-programmed battery settings.

Low temperature shutdown and input undervoltage protection
To prevent damage to lithium batteries, the charger automatically shuts down at low temperatures. It also shuts down when the input voltage drops below a configurable cut-off value and restarts when the voltage rises above the restart value, in order to protect the input source from deep discharge, such as the starter battery.

Remote on/off
The Orion XS can be turned on and off remotely via the remote on/off connector or the VictronConnect App. The most common applications include wiring a switch or a battery management system (BMS).

Full electronic protection
Protections include overload, short circuit, and excessive temperatures. The charger is protected from overheating by reducing the output power when the maximum product temperature is reached.

Can be connected in parallel to increase output current
An unlimited number of units can be connected in parallel.

Bluetooth Smart enabled
The wireless solution for changing settings, monitoring activities, and updating the Orion XS via smartphone, tablet, or other Apple and Android devices.

VE.Direct port and DVCC
Used to make a wired connection to a GX device, such as the Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, PC, or other devices. It allows advanced monitoring, control, and diagnostics from anywhere (requires a GX device connected to the internet and the VRM Portal) or locally via the Remote Console, as well as DVCC (Vsense, Tsense, Isense), system-wide charge current limit, and BMS control.

IP65 protection
The Orion XS meets the IP65 ingress protection rating. This means that the product is protected against dust ingress and against heavy rain.
